Hi All,
I just wanted to thank all of you for the congratulations everyone has sent
me. I have had many and if I have been slow in responding this is why. Too
we are trying to get prepared for the Half Moon Bay Weigh off Monday the
13th.
This is a great event, a ton of fun and I am looking forward to attending.
It is my understanding there are currently 93 pumpkins pre-registered for
the weigh off!!!!
Just an update on Jabba-977.
We have been approached by Good Morning American and also the tonight show.
Both Networks wanted to air pumpkin and grower on their shows.
Of the two we thought The tonight show was the most serious!
This afternoon we heard back from The tonight show and we mutually agreed
to decline doing the show.
They wanted to have a grand ending to the show and the pumpkin which
entailed smashing Jabba on stage or dropping her from a crane and filming
the crater she left in the ground.
I agreed this would not be acceptable!!!
Guess Leno is trying to keep up with Letterman?
No word back from Good Morning America so we must assume this is most
likely off as well.
Meanwhile, Jabba was safely moved to a new Agricultural Museum in Vacaville
Calif. where she will be on display until the end of the month. She will be
carved by a professional pumpkin carver at the end of Oct. but where or
when is still unknown.
The terms of acceptance of prize money stipulates she becomes the property
of those parties who sponsored the prize money!
While I have not received the complete prize money package I am
accommodating her new owners to be, in any way I can but at times it has
become difficult to follow what is going to happened next?
That's all for now!
Best Regards to All!
