John,
   Thank you for such wonderful news!!!!!! I'm happy to see that Jack gave
Sherrie the bigger of the two pumpkins to weigh-off. After all she kicked
his butt all summer in the patch until (1017 pound) 'Beauty' decided to
take another growth spurt 2 days before the Carnation weigh-off and
developed a tiny split. Under that condition Sherrie had her pumpkin
disqualified. Now she will be the Queen of the festivities down at HMB. I
wonder if this is the first woman to win this event?  Thanks again for the
