Arnold,
Organic methods are great , but 300 square feet is too small for these
things. 800 plus is better. The motor was attached to the pumpkin with an
internal framework of 2 by 4's. Two came out the baCK ABOVE THE WATER LINE
AND A TRANSOM WAS MADE. If you live near New York you can witness the worlds
first pumpkin boat race to be held Wednesday the 22nd. There is a lake in the
middle of Central Park that will host the regatta. I believe CNN and NBC will
be covering it with myself, Stew Leonard (owner of the worlds largest Dairy
store), and the New York City Parks Commissioner. There will be National TV
coverage of this, including the construction of the race boats at Stew
Leonard's Danbury store. Each boat will be outfitted with a 3 horsepower
motor and the entries may be lifted by crane into the water. I will have my
orange tuxedo and Stew will be wearing a black and white cows outfit. The
lord only knows what the Parks Commissioner will wear.....I heard he once
arrived at a press conference on an elephant....... my kind of guy. The drama
will unfold at high noon on Wednesday. Mighty Mabel II is alive and well.
