	Hey Jerry, 
  700 sq. feet is a good start.  When the plant wants more space it will
take it.  I grew 2 plants on 800 sq. feet and although they weren't
enormous pumpkins I still needed help to move them.  My wife gave me an
ultimatum.  I could have another pea patch garden next year for pumpkin
growing, or I could get a boat.  I'm taking the boat.  I'll have to
figure out where I can squeeze a pumpkin plant in my small suburban
backyard next summer.  At least you have access to an unlimited supply
of fertilizer.
