You got the numbers right, but I think the excitement of growing anything over 5 kg may have affected your brain. The real
reason why every pumpkin grown in Aust takes 15 people is so that we don't affect the earth's orbit. The problem is that our
pumpkins are so big that the weight has the potential to cause a major imbalance, and thus send the world hurtling to an
untimely and unfortunate collision with the sun! The other 14 people are sent to stand on the other side of the globe and even
up the weight a bit (14 people x 60-70kg each = approx. weight of pumpkin).
ps, there is nothing like a bit of friendly competition to start a trans-Tasman war.
