Well - it is here. Labour day. The traditional time to plant the garden and enjoy the anticipation of Summer. And what a day indeed. The early sun rose in the azure sky as I hit the golf course for an early round. Mt Egmont rose majestically from the verdant fields relinquishing some snow to reveal some black rock face. A jolly good round could only be topped by a visit to the vege patch to look at wonder at the pumkin plants and to make sure they were settled anfd happy in the brown, alluvial loam and manure. A good afternoon of planting petunias edged with marigold around the formal bedding and a long, sweet wine on the patio. Later on a trip to Kaupokanui Beach to watch the ocean meet river and to throw rocks at targets out at sea. A dash home to feel the light sunburn on arms and nape of neck from this most helsian of days. Oh sweet mystery of life at last I'v found thee !! Have a 'Parky' day!
