It was brought to my attention by a certain authority that you shipped 2
giant pumpkins to Hong Kong in mid-September.  I believe that you will be
shipping more.

I compliment you on your ability to keep this activity very quiet and very
secret.  It was only by coincidence that I was informed of your activity
and only because of the international profile of the Ottawa-St.Lawrence
Growers.

I have known about this activity of yours for 10 days and have kept quiet
hoping you would come forward with a suitable announcement or statement and
perhaps a surprise addition to our weighoff prize list.  That obviously is
not going to happen.

The sale of these pumpkins to China could have been integrated somewhere in
the prize list of the Ottawa-St.Lawrence Growers and enhanced our weighoff
on Saturday.  Also their shipping to China could have been used to promote
giant pumpkins and giant pumpkin growing in Canada and indeed in North
America.  This will not happen - until now it has been kept quiet.

You have made a contact on your own which you are perfectly entitled to do,
and turned it into your personal.gain.

Over the last few years you personally have benefited tremendously from the
activities of the Ottawa-St.Lawrence Growers, both promotionally and
financially.  Don't you feel that they have earned and deserved your
support?  With this contact you could have partially repaid your debt to
the Ottawa-St.Lawrence Growers.

deal - why did you keep it for yourself?"

Al,  "Are the benefits you personally got from the deal that much greater
