I am looking for the WPC results from Clarence NY> Any one attend this
event? I do know that my neighbor up the road, finished 2, and his son
finished third, with weights about 755 pounds, and got beat by like 7
pounds, but have not heard any other results yet.. I am curious for the
squash results, and the whole story behind the lack of publicity to the
pumpkin community this year.
I do know this, they lost a huge sponsor, and changed the prize base to
3000 bucks for first, and nothing for second and third. Last year it was
5000 dollars for first, with pamphlets being sent out in advance. It
looks pretty shady to try and reattract people to a contest, assuming
the prizes are the same, and then when they make the trip of 4 + hours,
finding out there has been a change of plans.
If you people recall, the week before this weighoff, no one knew or had
heard of what the WPC 's intenetions were, date, time, prize money. For
a nationally run contest like that, dont you think they should atleast
try to get the biggest and best pumpkins in the world, by atleast
letting fomer entrants having a copy of what is going on at the contest?
