Mike Turner, President of the British National Pumpkin Society asked me
to pass on the following UK news from various British competitions:
Ian Neale from Newport, South Wales beat his own 1994 (40lb 2oz) World
Record for a beetroot weighing 49lb 2oz, John Handbury from
Chesterfield, Derbyshire weighed a monsterous marrow which weighed
135lb. The British Squash Record was also set by John Perkins, from
Devizes, Wiltshire, with a 569lb squash.
