Narek:
If you feel that everyone in this pumpkin group is motivated by greed then why
are you still in? Anyone out there interested in buying any of my seeds for
$20 per seed. If I could sell them for that much I would probably be just
about breaking even on the time, effort and expense that goes into my garden.
As you can see, as Narek says, I am in it for the money. Yes, "Show me the
money." I know a lot of other growers who are growing giant pumpkins for the
profit. Of course, if they were a business, they would all be bankrupt. This
is definately going to be a long winter. Let's see now. I need 50 bags of
composted cow manure which is running about $1.67 a bag. That will be $83.50.
Yes! If I can come in second place and have no more overhead I will get
$100.00. That means my profit will be $16.50. And that is if I forget to bill
my time, use of the tiller, opportunity cost of the ground etc. etc. Yes, I
think we are all going to get rich growing pumpkins and as Narek implies, I
would guess that is why we are all in it.
As an aside, I was very suprised to find 760 seeds in my 391 pound pumpkin. Is
this a record? Now lets see at $.50 a seed I should get roughly $380.00 and
what will the postage, cost of an envelope etc be? Why am I getting a
headache????? How can I market my seeds?
