LETTERMAN - A REAL Giant Pumpkin!

Well, I hope you guys caught Letterman last night! They had a guy with a big
gourd, a GIANT (Yow!) pig! AND, a 531 (?) (530-something) pound Atlantic
Giant!
I missed the guys last name though! Is he on this list? I don't think he is,
since he said he paid $25 for his one seed! 
Anyway, he told Letterman that AG's weren't technically PUMPKINS, but SQUASH!
What??????????!!!!!!!!!!! Why did he say this?! They are pumpkins!!!!!!!! Now
he has spread this rumor on national TV! Anyway it was a pretty nice looking
pumpkin.

Also, the guy that won 3rd place at a local Apple Orchard/Cider Mill contest
brought his pumpkin back for the weekend for display. It is 571 pounds and I
finally got to see it up close. He put some sort of weird shellac stuff on it,
it looks like. I took some pictures, it was pretty nice looking. The guy at
Erie Orchard gave us the number of some guy that was the head of a pumpkin
growing organization, I forgot what it was though! I never knew there WAS any
GP organization around where I live (NW Ohio, SE Michigan). I'll post his name
as soon as I find out what it was again.
