My Harvest Display

Good Evening all.  I have a question.  I have a nice harvest display out in
my front yard.  It sits on a bed of straw.  I have pumpkins and gourds and
several other things in the display.  I noticed that the bottom of the
pumpkins and the gourds are really wet.  I know hay was the wrong thing to
sit them on.  Anyone have a suggestion on what to sit the pumpkins and
gourds on to make them last?
