Fellow boaters,
I am sorry to say that the Regatta has been canceled. Stew's people had
trouble negotiating the use of the Park with the Parks Commish. office. The
rest is history. 5,000 dollars worth of pumpkins were purchased and will be on
display at Stews Stores. The 917 pound Joe Goetz pumpkin was cared by someone
in Time Square and will be transported back to the Danbury Stews. The seeds
are also in transit. One of the 800 pounders was saved for me, if I should
decide to do something wacky like go over Niagara Falls. Bob Marcellus and
two other people in Connecticut were planning on doing this, so who
knows.......maybe a race is still possible.
