Below are the official weigh-off results registered today.
Former Canadian Champion Bill Greer also lost his Prince Edward County
Crown as he was defeated by his daughter in law Paulette.
Growers were allowed to weigh-in more than one pumpkin to qualify for
the growers prizes for a $5.00 per pumpkin but only one cash prize was
allowed for the heaviest pumpkin categories.
A wonderful crown of over 3000 people turned out for the parade, games
fish fry, barbeque and other festivities.
In addition to the 43 Giant Pumpkins weighed in there were also many
others displayed on floats and trailers....Angus Bruce winner in
Battersea brought his 852 lb. and Bill Greer displayed his second place
finisher from Ottawa which was 878.5 lbs.
The parade stretched the length of the village and included all of the
weigh-off pumpkins, antique cars, Shriners, a Pipe Band and dozens of
other floats made of pumpkins and fall themes.
The weather co-operated and a great time was had by all.
