Re: Preserving Pumpkins


Last year I experimented with three jack-o-lanterns and a couple of 
suggestions people made on the list...  One jack-o-lantern got nothing, 
one got Vaseline, one got hairspray.  Hairspray was the big winner.  
That one lasted the longest by far. 

I'm thinking of experimenting this year with polyurethane.  If you've 
created a real masterpiece, it might be worth the effort.  Of course, 
kids need supervision, polyurethane is pretty dangerous, PLUS HOLD THE 
CANDLES TILL EVERYTHING IS DRY, PLEASE.
