I see that several people have answered you question, so I won't chime in 
with more advice except to say that pumpkins are not fragile. You can stand 
on them, and they can take some serious rolling and bumping. But they do lose 
some skin from being rubbed against anything.
I hope your questions mean you will be in Elk Grove. I will be there with one 
son (who got use of his company's van for transporting the pumpkins), and two 
other younger guys.
