Big Checkons!!

Congratulations to Gerry and Larry Checkon on a couple BIG pumpkins. Is it possible that the new world record is also from the Checkon 815???
If that is the case maybe the pumpkin world gave up too quick on the Anderson 977?
Or maybe the 977 just needs to be down one generation in the pedigree, and the offspring outperform the 977 itself. There has to be some merit to the 977 as I believe that it was by far the biggest pumpkin ever grown in California - correct anyone??
Opinions??
