Bill,
The cut off days for most ARE official weigh-offs with witnesses abound
and these weigh -offs are in tune with climatic conditions. At the later
stages of a pumpkin 33lb a day is not realistic. And the bigger a pumpkin
gets the odds seem to get tougher getting it to the scales...........so the
guy leaving it on the vine is still at major risk increasing every
day....so its a wash.....its like gambling when to cash out....go that
extra bet and lose everything....or bring it home...no one knows. Depends
on your nerve.............I thought the same thing set a date...simple
thinking....but if you do, it benefits folks that it works out perfectly
for...........and the other just have to cope. Seasons are different and
if you want the best in the world..... Hell bring on your best shot
doesn't matter........but get it weighed offically with lots of
witnesses......BDB
