Altoona Weighoff
I want to thank and congratulate everyone who worked so hard to make the
Altoona weighoff an exciting and memorable experience last weekend in
Altoona.
The setup was gorgeous, everything ran smoothly, and the pie-eating contest
was a creative addition to the festivities. Of course Gerry Checkon put
Altoona on the pumpkin map, but it never would have happened there without
lots of hard work from Marv Meisner and all the PGPGA cats - Marv Hicks,
Dale Mellott, Art Franek, the Checkons, that whole crazy Helsel gang, Patty
& Brian Shaw, and lots more folks. Even Mother Nature cooperated. It was a
picture perfect day.
