RE: Any weigh-offs left?

Saturday evening October 16th there will be a weighoff held at the "Haunted
House" sponsored by KUBE radio and the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce in Des
Moines, WA. This event was coordinated with the PNWGPG and some of the top
growers in this group will be participating. I've heard rumors that some of
the northwest growers have been holding back their larger pumpkins for this
event. I'm not sure what that will mean though. It has been a difficult
season for the majority of Northwest growers and weights are down throughout
the region this year from past years. I have yet to hear of any from this
part of the country exceeding 900 lbs this year, and very few over 800 lbs.
We'll just have to wait until Saturday night to find out what may still be
lurking in the pumpkin patches of the Pacific Northwest.
