I get so confused at times....I talked to another grower last night:
while out for dinner in our small community.
Of course the topic of discussion was our pumpkins ...lol.....we were
discussing ....strategies ....what we did this year ....etc.He said
something confusing...please enlighten me"
I told him I was cross pollinating next year...one of my 516.9
seeds....he said ....I will end up with a small pumpkin....""""that the
genetics don't come out in the pumpkin itself .... but in it's
seeds""""......is this true....????.So I won't know until the following
year....what the genetic size of my pumpkin will be....???I sure don't
want to wait 2 growing seasons....to see the cross pollination
results.....
We have a standing dinner bet ...for next year ...same time same place
for the winner next year ...he took 2nd at our weigh -off....I took
4th...but I beat him last year.
Before we left.... the whole establishment was involved in our
conversation...and wanting to grow....lol....so contagious.
