Reading posts on the list lately about manures
I thought I would give you some simple fair dinkum composting recipe's that
work.
(1) CHICKEN
MANURE FRUIT WASTES
LEAVES
half
pound
3LB's
3LB's
(2) COW
MANURE LAWN
CLIPPINGS STRAW
half
pound
6LB's
1LB's
(3) LAWN
CLIPPINGS LEAVES FOOD
WASTES
5LB's
2LB's
2LB's
Now which ever recipe you use you will need to
make sure that all the ingredients
are MOIST not soak,If they are dry just run the hose over them
till they are damp.
Also the weights I have given you are to be
kept in context i.e.; recipe 3: IF you want to make more compost maybe you could
go 7.5LB + 3LB + 3LB or 10LB + 4LB +4LB.
Make sure the ingredients are mixed together. Then in a couple of
days your heap should be hot about 3 or 4 days give your heap a toss around and
then let it stand again for a week or so and then repeat.
Any questions e-mail me privately and I will
try and help you out as much as possible.
