That "circle thingy" is probably just the scar from the little one's
circumcision. I know that it can be intimidating, but if you explain it
in an honest manner, pointing out that it is a time honored tradition,
and that many others have gone through the same thing, your pumpkin will
understand. In fact, you might just find yourself closer than you ever
were before.
(You might want to consider using the word "special" instead of "freaky"
to avoid any negative stigma or psychological scarring or cantelouping.)
