Title: RE: pumpkins DIGEST V1 #964
Rick, I have carved quite a few pumpkins and I use wood carving tools, a mallet, potter's tools, a sharp knife, and a power Skil Saw. That is for deeper cuts and when I need to go through the walls, Much safer than a knife and cuts pumpkin really well. I used it to carve smaller pumpkins once when I had to do 50 of them in one day for a commercial display. It also helps to draw a rough design on your pumpkin for guidelines and remember the old sculptor's trick...."Just remove anything that doesn't look like a face"! LOL Have fun. It is easier than it looks.
