Born Again
I finally harvested my very late great pumpkin (Sally
Ann) a little over a week ago. Final measurement was
308" OTT for an estimated weight of 587 lbs.
A little over two weeks ago I stopped pruning the
plant and just let it romp. Within days I noticed a
few female flowers. Now just two weeks later I have
at least FIVE 25-35 pound pumpkins growing. There are
also many more smaller ones start to pop all over the
plant.
The bigger ones now appear to be growing at least 5-10
lbs each a day. A few more warm days and I will have
five 50+ pound ghost-white pumpkins by Halloween!
This plant must be Italian or Irish - and catholic.
