Brilliant!!!! I think we are on to something really big here.  Is the
pumpkin half sunk or half surfaced when floating?  Does it float, or does
it simply choose not to sink because the bottom of the lake is much too
dull (What , with the dirt, and fish, and  all.)  It just chooses to take
a cheery bob at the surface for the pleasure of the onlooker, further
asserting it's prosocial disposition.
