Agree with this process. I experimented the same way with vine burying.
If you bury later, the root system in weak. I also found some 60% soil
40% manure is a good mix to use. The soil will add some body and help the
wash-away from happening. I tried 90%manure 10% soil..............could
not hold any moisture, easily washes away.
