Jason,
It is normal for the leaves to die off that way as the plant ages. Cut them flush with the main vine and dust with sulfur. Remove the cut leaves and debris from the patch. Once powdery mildew has infected the plant, about all you can do is try to control it. You can't remove the mildew that Is there but you can slow down It's progression. Continue spraying every seven to ten days and make sure you spray the undersides of the leaves. Especially the newer one. Bob.

Days have been 85+ and nights have been low in upper 60's or low 70's. The last four mornings have been foggy. My leaves are turning yellow, curling up, turning brown and dying. The stems turn yellow and rot back to the main vine. The main vines appear to be OK at the moment. I am using an ORTHO Fungicide blend for all vegetables and have been applying as directed, yet the leaves are still going. The leaves appear to have a white mold on the undersides. Any suggestions? My fruit is at an estimated 310 pounds and gaining 14-22 pounds daily. Jason H |
