Re: Presumptous
Ok Folks....i think this is an interesting thread so i'll chime in....please
delete it now if you're not into it................Ok.....
point 1....I agree in part with Mike Brock,Chris M, Rocky,Mike S., Bob
A,Chris D (the grower) and ,although i never thought i'd say this----Gordon
T. ;) . Andrew,I think your being a little harsh on Chris M--I dont see
anything that looks like jelousy or spite. The list people seemed to all
support you and Chris's efforts and root you on.How many emails did you get
in support both before and after you lost the 788?You've been on this list a
while...you've had to see this topic come up before...you sound like you
didn't expect differences of opinion on such a hotly debated subject. Selling
seeds -right,wrong,whatever,is like walking through a mine field...and to not
expect to get hit by a few pieces is unrealistic. You obviously went into the
season with guns loaded and open full bore...ready for anything...and got
great results because of it. How could you (Chris) post two seeds for 15
dollars and not be prepared to hear it? Mentor Chris a bit more...explain
that its a delicate subject, that there's certain "list etiquette" when
dealing with the list. They are his seeds and he can do what he wants.
(Just a reminder...you can delete at any time)
point 2.....(to all...).Who's seed is it? He may do as he pleases.
point 3.....(to Bob A)...good point about the 16 year comment, but it
doesn't hurt to "encourage and enlighten" at an early age. people should back
off a bit on the personal attacks.
point 4.....pumpkin seeds do not have the volume of air/gas/WHATEVER! to
implode/explode in an airplane.Besides,my experience with Canadian mail is
they WALK to the states!
point 5.....Chris,you grew a fine pumpkin. Thanks for donating some seeds to
the pumpkin organizations. Some people dont even do that.
point 6.....I think 15 bucks for two unproven seeds is too much, so I
pleasantly declined and thanked him for offering them.
point 7.....there is a market for seeds....ask Ray and check out ebay.
Perhaps the market doesn't exist here on the pumpkins list....thats why I'm
here. and alot of others...I give seeds away and I thank all of you out there
for seeds...best genetics in the world come from this list membership...a
special family...of world champs...'97,'98,'99,2000(projected...you know who
you are ;).
point8....lets look at this from a marketing angle....this list probably
represents a good portion of the pumpkin public. What better testing ground
for an unknown seed than this list? Surely with a harvest of 750 seeds a
bunch could be given out to prove...only making the remaining seeds more
desireable?I think they call that a "promotion" right?
point 9....these are my current ramblings and feeling on this
matter.Perhaps if i had a fruit worthy of some time I wouldn't bother writing
this......but i dont. This is my pumpkin fix for the day. Thanks for your
time....you should have probably deleted-remember...I gave you two chances!
