life after frost
The pumpkins grow on here in Cooperstown, NY after 2
frosts. The pumpkin on the vine that I thought had
most damage is still gaining about 5 lbs a day. This
is impressive since I almost culled it in the
beginning since it sat on its vine. I gave it a 180
move over and off the vine,to its present location and
it has shown it's gratitude ever since. The other 2 on
the 2 healthier looking vines are slower, but growing.
Patch looks ratty, but "this ain't no beauty contest."
Old shower curtains have made great tarps over fruit.
We just might make it to a weighoff yet.
