Glenn: Since our weighoff is generally 1 week after Winsor, we have found that our
pumpkins generally lose 10-12 lbs in that week.

Does anyone have any data or experience with regards to how much a pumpkin loses in weight after being cut from the vine? I realize there will be quite a few variables involved here - but am just wondering if the list has any numbers on what to expect in percentage weight loss say for a week or two after harvesting. I just got a cull from my Checkon 815 plant on the scales today that had been cut from the vine for 12 days now. We have been having some nice weather and the fruit sat out in the glaring sun for all 12 days since it was cut. I weighed it today at 386 pounds and the ott estimate has it at 376 pounds so it is still over the charts by a couple percentage points - but I am wondering now what it would have weighed if I got it on the scales when it was cut.
