Colorado Update - the good and the bad...

First the bad....

I just got back today from a 10 day vacation - it takes guts or rather no
brains to go on vacation during pumpkin season - I had my girl friend water
it while I was gone and she didn't do much else for the plant - I suspect it
wasn't watered enough and it has developed a dill ring - there was no sign
of one when I left - I've heard of the nature versus nurture argument
concerning dill rings and at least in this case I suspect that nurture was
the culprit....

And the good...

This Hester 850 continues to put on weight - now at 150-92-93 --> 335 OTT -
about 740 pounds on day 61 - just shy of the Colorado State record. Bur
perhaps the best part was when I got back from vacation - my girl friend has
more or less ignored these large orange orbs in my back yard and tried to
ignore my obsession - her first words when I got back were - you have to see
the pumpkin, why don't you go measure it, we need to have a viewing for the
neighbors, do you think it is hot enough to mist, etc...

I think there is hope for her yet...
