Re: C vs OTT

Al
This is a great topic and no doubt will have everyone on the list reach for
their calculators.
I am once again growing the 871 Richart "97. It comes out at .441 and is
the nicest looking pumpkin I have ever grown. Side to side and stem to
blossem are basically the same measurements. It has tremendous shoulders to
the point where I've had to put small pieces of styrofoam between the vine
and pumpkin to keep the vine from rubbing.
All things being equal, I should be able to put another 50 lbs.+ before
October 7th. It should become a personal best but one can't be sure until
that pumpkin hits the scales at Canby.
I did "self" this pumpkin and will grow its seed next season along with
your 780. I think that would be an awesome cross. Already planning for next
year.
