Rocky,
A couple years ago I took a pumpkin to Carnation that was a creamy orange in
the middle and heavily catalouped at both the stem and blossom ends. I had
never really noticed how much green there was between the netting. The
judges ended up ruling it a squash because approximately 1/3 of the fruit
had that appearance. Had I known that it was a squash I would have brought
another pumpkin I had that was orange and entered both. I had it under a
blue tarp and in the altered light under the tarp failed to notice the color
change. Apparantly the color of the cantalouping isn't considered, it's the
color of the skin in the background that counts. You may just have to start
coming to terms with the idea that you have grown another fine squash this
year. Maybe you should stick with those as you seem to have a knack for
getting them to grow well. Best of luck.
