Here is my estimated weight

    Bob,
Well I finally got out and measured the biggest of my two pumpkins. It had
a circumference of 97 inches, over the top stem to blossom of 66 and side to
side over the top of 68. That makes 231 total, so according to Howard Dills
method I have a 438 and to look at it probably every LB of that. I am really
happy. just to think what would had happened if the stem had not cracked in
half on the 13th day. It has only grown maybe 60 lbs. since but is
functioning on about a quarter of a stem, I am just lucky I guess to get that
weight at all. I am so happy!!!!!!!
Next year I am going to double the ground space in my garden to 40 ft by
40 ft and only grow two plants, I am looking foreword to next year.
oh yeah my other pumpkin is only a couple of pounds short of the big one.
Next year I will germinate a few of my own and cross the one that remains
with the best seed that I can purchase, or beg for!
The reason I am keeping my seed is the speed of the initial growth of the
fruit. Is that normal for an Atlantic giant?????
Well got to get back to my watering duties,
good bye all
