At what point does a
stem split disqualify a pumpkin? I have two pumpkins with splits in the pumpkin
just below the stem. They are approx. 1" deep, 2" long, and 1/4" wide. On one
pumpkin, I was able to dry it up and heal it, the other is still "wet". Both
pumpkin splits do not go all the way through to the inner cavity. Do they still
qualify? Will the pumpkin with a seeping split be disqualified even though the
hole does not yet enter the seed cavity? How about the dry split that has
healed? It would be no fun to go through all the effort to transport one of
these to find out it was no good.
