Shock absorber pumpkins
My questions are to the big time lurkers.  

1) What are your opinions of shock absorber pumpkins?

2) Do you think they help to keep 'the big one' on the plant from splitting?

3) Do you think they 'steal' from 'the big one' and reduce its potential
growth significantly?

4) What is the best strategy to employ if any?
