I discovered yesterday, quite by accident, that there are two good
pumpkins taking flight in my patch. I had thought there was only one
but there is another one on the soil on top of the raised bed. Don't
know quite what to do about it but I have some time to decide. I
wouldn't want this extra one to squash the surrounding vines as it
enlarges. So far the one on the ground is about like a large vidalia
onion. Does anyone know when the frost is expected here on the east
coast? I am hoping for an extended growing season just to see these
last ditch pumpkins mature! And to think I almost yanked the plant so I
could start some late peas!
