Re: Thanksgiving Point Utah Weigh off info

Dear List: I hope you don't mind my copying this to the entire
list. I'm hoping that we can generate more interest in our
area and at our weighoff. -Cliff

Brian, Ron, Kevin:

Right now it looks like I'll be able to be there.
It'll be a hassle, as I will need to bring two
vehicles, but oh well. Maybe I should just go buy an
extended-cab pickup!

My leaves are "mostly dead" from the Sept. 8th freeze,
but the pumpkins are still on the vine, and appear to
be gaining weight, very slowly. I seem to have become
expert in growing pumpkins in the 200 to 250 range.
Take your pick among 7 or 8. One of them leads the pack
at 278 est. (OTT based) or 315 est. (circumference based).
My goal for this year (my second) has been 300 pounds,
so I'm very interested in finding out what I did.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully
some other growers in our area. Maybe this can be the
start of the "Mountain West Giant Pumpkin Growers
Association"?. (MWGPGA?)
