Lost the big one

Hey everyone,

I lost the big pumpkin I had!  It went down due to a small hole that opened up in between a rib and a small dill ring.  Last time I emailed you for some help, I had cut three-forths of the plant away to slow down growth to 5lbs a day.  Soon after I did that, we had four straight days of rain followed by a very sunny, warm day.  It was OK when I checked it in the morning, but in the afternoon is when I noticed it had opened up.  I had it weighed two days later at Kohler Company on one of their scales, and it weighed 880lbs.  The current State record is 829lbs.  I guess that is pumpkin growing for you!  Anyone interested in some of the seeds just email me privately to work something out.  The cross is the 879Holland X 743Hester.  The 743Hester was the mother of the current WI state record 829Barlow, so it definitely has some potential!!  Good luck to everyone!!
