No, I remember writing to you that Jerry Cullen and John Lewis both
picked Ray Barenchi; neither of them picked a weight so they can fight
it out if he wins, and he's still in the running. It was right after
that that I made my decision for Mike Brock, since no one else had
picked him. About the same time I told Ray that he had two votes, and so
he wanted to guess Pete Glasier, so I sent that. Those would have been
the four you got from me, and they should be in the archives, since
didn't we have a rule that they had to be posted to the list (otherwise
you and I might be suspected of trying to throw it to some favorite of
ours, a guy with buns of steel or something)? I believe Brian
Christensen was the last person to enter, and it was before deadline.
That's probably also in the archives.
I don't think that posting the entries would squelch the rumors. I
thought if we posted them before weighoffs begin, it might only possibly
influence growers with contenders whether they want to go to Elk Grove
or wait another 10 days for Half Moon Bay.
I think it would liven things up as weighoffs approach, since we'd share
the extra excitement of those of us who made our guesses.
However, Judge Cuz, your decision is FINAL.
