Please, please please let no one vote on my efforts. I am simply doing the best I have ever done. At the risk of jinxing myself I will tell you I have two pumpkins doing well by my standards. One is the Emmons 975-01. It grew a double flat vine but split by itself about 6 feet out. The pumpkin I let set on that now has 65" circ. and 50" stem to blossom. It is a creamy yellow, no discernible lobes, just kinda lumpy all over. Plant was extremely vigorous and tolerant to heat. Biggest plant I have ever seen. The second in on a seed from P and P labeled only Bobier 975. This is such a pretty pumpkin, wheel shaped, deep lobes 72" circ. and 37" stem to blossom end. However, if it does not get more orange or cream color to it as it ripens I will only be able to take it to the county fair. Way too much green for competition. I have petitioned my husband to go to Elk Grove, however with harvest going as it is, I cannot promise anything. Then I will take both pumpkins to the fair for weights.
So, no 1000 lb'er here, but proud of what I have
