RE: Yellow Ooze

Hi all:
My pumpkin is oozing a thick yellow material.  It's almost like a sweat on
an area 1 ft. by 1 ft. and a heavy drip above the stem.  If I leave the ooze
alone, it eats into a plant skin.  It's contained and has not spread.  Has
anyone any idea what it is & how to treat it?  Thanks, Mark
