I've seen the glory!

Hey List,

       Steve here...the newbie on the list. I asked for help and the list responded in mass! I was fortunate enough to meet the likes of Chris Gergory, who eagerly invited me out to his patch. What a trip...my first exposure to the world of giant pumpkins!

       Wow, Chris has it wired...and then some! He actually has incorporated technology that was derived from the salvaged remains of an acual alien UFO crash-sight! Using reverse engineering, he was able to adapt several technologically advanced concepts and is hard at work putting together a pumpkin that will need its own zip code. It's pumpkins as nature never intended!

       I've been sworn to secrecy....please do not ask me any questions. I've only seen a fraction of what's going on over there 'yander in that patch....and it's not something I can speak about. All I will say is that if I were a pumpkin....I'd want to be growing in that guys field of dreams!

       As for me, my ambitions hardly span beyond growing a few big pumpkins....I'd be happy keeping them large and fun....say 80-200 pounders, with maybe one "go for the gold fat-boy extreme". I'm also quite certain I can get a whole lot more out of my gardening efforts in general by applying much of what I saw/learned.

       Anyways....I just wanted to thank the list for your multiple and many offers for help and advice. Special thanks to Chris; while he trusted me with some of his secrets...I can assure you it wasn't necessary to blindfold me and drive me to the 'final location' in the trunk of his car. My GPS works wether I'm blindfolded not!
