The Southern Minnesota Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off is going to be held on
September 28th at Jim's Super Fresh Produce in Austin, Minnesota. Take
the 4th Street exit off I-90 and the location is several blocks north.
Pumpkins, squash, watermelon, sunflowers, and tall corn will be weighed
or measured. To enter in the pumpkin or squash categories, a five dollar
fee for non members (one entry fee covers all classes). There is no
entry fee for watermelon, tall corn, or sunflowers.
The weigh off starts at 10 am. A pancake breakfast will be available
from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. A lunch stand will be opened from 11:30 to
2:00 pm. There will be a petting zoo for the family. There will be over
$1000 in cash and prizes for the entrants.
