It would be up to the officials in your state to record it, but generally,
the record is the state in which it was grown, not weighed.

Another "Rules" question:

If I haul my pumpkin from MT to another state to a weigh off, and if my
pumpkin is larger than the current state record (there is none at this
point), would it count as a new record for my home state? I think I know the
answer, but I need to hear it too. Thanks.
