List,
It has become my new ambition to hold the record for most posts on this mailing list for a month. Once I own that record, I am going for most posts in a year. I just know I can do it. As far as I can tell Kathie Morgan now owns the record with 59 posts to the list in July of 2002. If anyone knows this to be an error, please let me know. In September of 2002, Kathie has 42 posted. She is well off of her record setting pace. Perhaps someone could volunteer their web site to hold the records by states for most posts in a month, year, career, etc.... They could have a section titled, how to maximize your posts to the pumpkin mailing list. Langevin could write a book and profile all of the heavy mailers.
My plan to set the record is simple. I will respond to every post that has the slightest hint of humor. My response will be simple, "LOL". Then I will send a separate email stating, "Sorry, I meant for that to be a private post". If someone grows a big one, I will send them at least two emails to the list telling them "congratulations". And of course this email will be followed up with a, "Sorry, that was meant to be a private email". Ingenious, don't you think?
I just need the lists help in finding sponsors for this competition. I can't imagine spending countless hours at my computer, contemplating new ideas of how I can increase my posts to the list without some kind of compensation. Posting is very time consuming and I feel that I should be compensated, as well as anyone else who puts in their time to this worth while cause. I was thinking that the winner each month, year, or whatever could get $5 a post. Second and third place could just have set cash amounts.
The Pumpkin Master
