Straw mulch worked GREAT for me last year I did great with it BUT this year I put in about twelve 19 LB bags of vermiculite to 1600 square feet of patch it held WAY too much moisture and my plants suffered.. Can't remove it so will have to learn to deal with it !!!! wish I had just used straw !!! Make sure if you do use the dry stuff !!!!!! Take care all !!!
