Re: INDIANA STATE RECORD - very sad

Bruce,
I normally try to keep quiet about these things, but I decided that I could not on this one.  I believe that your group is wrong on this.  I have been growing giant pumpkins since 1970 and understand all the work it takes to grow them.  To post that your group is "not allowing" this record from Mr. Beachy is not fair...it was weighed and validated by other people that this pumpkin was a valid pumpkin.  I also heard that the handlers cause some of this leakage.  Anyways, I'm still trying to figure out how certain groups think they are in charge of the "state record"...but in my mind. Mr. Beachy owns the  Indiana record as does Steve Thorson with his certified 963 lber for MN.  This is supposed to be a fun sport and having these people raise the limit is just AWESOME.
Great job Steve and Tom!
