Pumpkins are like Football

Football is the perfect analogy:

Last year, the Cleveland Browns fans had a riot because the officials reviewed a play after another play had been run, which is contrary to the rules.  This is the riot (although thankfully much more civil).  This year, the Browns had effectively won their first game.  However, a Browns player removed his helmet on the last play, while on the field, with no time on the clock, resulting in a penalty, which allowed the opposing team to run another play.  The Browns lost- THE REFEREES  (JUDGES') decisions were final!  Like it or not, they were correct.

On Saturday evening, after the weighoff, Brad announced to this list that Tom had a new state record.  The Judges' decisions are final.  You can't change the rules after the fact. You can change the rules for next year.

Peace,

Kurt

Craig,
I think you hit the nail on the head.  The IPGA in this case is more like the Big Ten is to football.  The judges (officials) made there ruling on the field.  That ruling still stands by the way.  There are times when the overseer of the event need to take a stand in an effort to maintain fairness to all involved.  We have tried to do that.  Although I know some still do not feel that way.  Maybe we will verify our decision with the NCAA (GPC) to be sure we are in compliance.
